Public Interest Research Group would like to invite you to attend community
information and action planning session and that will examine the effects of
climate change and the immediate need for a local adaptation strategy in the
Waterloo Region. At present, our Region has well developed preventative or
mitigation plans aimed at reducing pollution and other climate change
stressors. However, we have yet to develop a concrete plan that anticipates and
initiates action in preparation for the current and future climate changes that
will take place. Organizations, collectives and individuals interested in
learning more about climate change in the Waterloo Region and participating in
projects that will have direct, positive results improving the quality of life
for residents of the Waterloo Region are encouraged to attend. Climate change
is something that affects all of us but certain groups that are marginalized,
such as those who experience systemic poverty, are particularly vulnerable to
the coming changes. WPIRG believes that environmental justice is intimately
linked with social justice. For this reason we encourage and appreciate the
participation of social service and social justice agencies in the community as
well as individuals using these services. </span></p><div><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"> </span><br class="webkit-block-placeholder"></div><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";">All are welcome
