[GREN-Exec] Thursday Update - ROP Activities

Hi GREN Executive,

Another productive day with lots of meetings, calls, progress and learning:

- it is looking like we will have about 30 people on Friday’s 7:00pm Zoom call to co-ordinate Council delegations.  Feel free to join us at: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84941829318 <https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84941829318>

- I registered to speak on Tuesday at the Regional Council Meeting but hope to speak under Smart Growth Waterloo Region.  Who might be able to delegate for GREN, or if Greg delegates for GREN are their others at Waterloo Region Nature who could delegate so they have a voice there too?

- I had a good call with Hold the Line WR and Councillor Tom Galloway who chairs Planning & Works (but Elizabeth Clark will be chairing the meeting on Tuesday as it rotates) he thinks Councillors can be persuaded to direct staff to come back with additional scenarios with more density, more intensification, no residential lands, and less employment lands.  Does anyone know Elizabeth Clark well and can help reach out to her to ensure that we get a direction to Staff?

- I have received materials from Environment Hamilton about their resources, timelines, tools and learning that I have attached below.  Interesting to learn from.

- I have meetings with Regional Staff tomorrow, will be writing my delegation so it can be circulated to Councillors in advance as requested, and will be preparing materials for the Community Group Delegation Planning meeting at 7:00pm.
