Hi GREN Executive,
Greg, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your sister. It is so unfortunate. We can barely fathom the long-term impacts and consequences of this pandemic.
Also, in my efforts to try to keep the GREN Executive better apprised of the OGA work even though things were officially concluded at the end of December, the OGA Steering Committee has felt that given the importance of Ford’s apparent desire to expand and grow the Greenbelt along with the likelihood of future additional funding we should be continuing our ongoing efforts without pause.
Thus, work has continued over the holidays on a Draft Grow the Greenbelt Report for the Premier along with discussions on how best to bring in a wide variety of environmental, community, agricultural and other groups to call out the Premier’s bluff and force them to action.
Below is the first draft of a document/report. Please feel free to review it and let me know any feedback. There will be additional materials and meetings over the days ahead as we race to get this out to the Minister and media in a timely manner - likely before the end of January.
Perhaps you can think of potential groups we should be starting to include in our region.
Cheers,
Kevin.
