[GREN-Exec] Greenbelt Consultation Updates

Hi GREN Exec,

A short note with some updates in advance of Monday’s deadline for provincial Greenbelt expansion to the Paris-Galt Moraine feedback:

1) OGA Consultation Submission - Greg and I were able to attend a call last night from the Ontario Greenbelt Alliance on the Greenbelt consultation.  There will be a joint submission going in from the OGA based on work from Anne Bell at Ontario Nature.  I believe that GREN should sign on to this though the deadline for letting them know is Wednesday (tomorrow).  Please let me know if you are in favour or opposed to GREN signing on.  A draft copy is attached below.

	


2) GREN Submission - I will draft a short submission over the coming days focussing more on things from a Waterloo Region perspective that we can also submit to the province from GREN.  More updates soon.


3) Webinar Preview - In advance of our GREN/Sustainable Brant/Ontario Headwaters Institute webinar on Thursday at 7pm, there are similar sessions being held tonight and tomorrow night if you want to tune in and get an idea of what to expect for Thursday. Hopefully all this makes sense.  My delegation to Regional Council this morning went well and the Regional Staff report (attached below) got unanimous approval from Council.
