[GREN-Exec] Fwd: [All] An Event on Nov. 23

See below for the e-mail that I sent to Michael earlier this morning. I didn't get the impression he was asking for us to be a co-sponsor. And deliberately I didn't suggest it because I wasn't wanting to be pushy. I did make it clear that I thought it was a fine event. I agree that it is something that we could gladly co-sponsor but I feel badly to sign-on and get credit as a co-sponsor when we haven't contributed anything to it - except for sending the notice out to our e-mail list.
Susan B, do you think he is wanting us to sign-on?
John

> My apologies for any misunderstanding on this matter. In your e-mail to GREN you say that some people are under the impression that GREN is a sponsor of this event. I suspect that this has happened because of the e-mail below that Susan sent out to the GREN e-mail list. We see one of the roles of GREN as being to make people aware of events that they may be interested in. Therefore we often send out notices of other people's upcoming events. We certainly don't intend that to in anyway mean that we are part of or a sponsor of that event. If you have any suggestions on how we can avoid such a misunderstanding, please let us know. One way to do it would be to say in e-mails that we forward is to say we are not a sponsor of this event, but I would hesitate to put such a note on a forwarded event because people might interpret this as meaning we don't like the event.

> This is an excellent event. If I didn't have a meeting that evening in Whitby of a Lake Ontario fish advisory committee that I am on, I would certainly attend your event.
