<>WILFRED KOSWAN September 12, 1926 - October 1, 2015 Father, Gido and Uncle "Wolf" to many nieces and nephews - died just a few weeks after his 89th birthday. He is predeceased by his wife Mary (nee Sobala) in 2011, parents, and brothers Clifford and Edward. Although suffering from dementia and heart problems in recent years, Dad's longevity was surely due to years of doing 75 pushups on the kitchen counter every morning while waiting for his porridge to cook. After retiring from 35+ years working for Anaconda Copper and Brass (Arrowhead), Dad took up golf with a passion and had at least one hole-in-one to his credit. Dad could fix and build things, and he could stand on his head until all the loose change fell out of his pockets. Following the lead of his Uncle Tony (deceased) in Detroit, garage- sitting became his fair-weather afternoon pastime, where he was often joined by his brother, Clifford to chat and sip "a cold one" from the garage fridge. Everyone needs a hobby and Dad's was to collect the tabs on pop cans to donate for wheelchairs. He was relentless in this pursuit. Kilos and kilos of popcan tabs found their way to the Legion. Donations can be made to the Royal Canadian Legion or the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Money or tabs. Wilfred's children, Marlene Koswan, Susan Koswan (Lawrence Goerzen) and Bryan Koswan (Karen Zwara) and their families; and Wilfred's sister, Elsie Moroz, invite you to celebrate his life on: Monday, October 5, 2015 at Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Boulevard West, Etobicoke. Visitation 11 a.m. to noon, followed by funeral service. Interment: Springcreek Cemetery, 1390 Clarkson Road North, Mississauga. Reception: 2 p.m., Canadiana Restaurant, 5230 Dundas Street West.
