What we have so far re bee tour:
Susan K
Hi Anne,
The two main speakers will be John Bennett, Sierra's Nationa Director, and Paul McKay, author and journalist, with one or more guest speakers. I am looking for guest speakers myself, but if you know of anyone in the KW area, that would be helpful. We are looking for people who have a particular interest in the subject (bees, pesticides, ecology, agriculture, etc), such as scientists, beekeepers, environmentalists, politicians, etc.
I will be in touch with you next week, as we will finalize our schedule very soon.
Let me know if you would like any more information.
Pascale

Hi Pascale,
There are several groups here in K-W that I think would come together to organise something. Do you provide speaker (s) or do we have to provide all that?

Hi Anne,
Thank you for your interest in hosting a Save the Bees event. We already have a lot of interest for hosts, especially in Ontario.
As pesticide use and pollinator health is a hot-topic in Ontario at the moment, with the government’s proposed action plan on pesticide reduction, we are planning to run a mini-tour in Ontario in early March, as a preview of our national tour.
We are looking for hosts such as local community or environmental groups to help us organize and run these events. We require assistance in finding a venue, promoting the event through media and printed material, as it becomes available, finding a local guest speaker, and running the evenings, including setting up and greeting attendees.
If this sounds interesting to you, we would be excited to add Kitchener-Waterloo to our tour.
Thank you,
Pascale

I would like to know what is involved for any group of people deciding to host a tour in their city?
We have an interest in Kitchener -Waterloo in hosting, but need to know what is expected of us.
Sincerely,
Anne Morgan
