[GREN-Exec] Should we cancel meeting??

Oh dear, on the 17th evening I'm on at Regional Council as a delegate of the Waterloo Region Food System Round Table to present a statement of support for the Region vs the OMB decision (the same motion that I once circulated to GREN).
I've been swamped with meetings lately. Yesterday I was at a small meeting with the federal NDP agriculture critic, who represents Welland. I was impressed by his knowledge and intelligence and the productive discussion that we had. He seems to have a good grasp of economic and social issues of farming as well as the need to protect natural habitat and deal effectively with matters like GM crops and the need for sustainability considerations. It was reassuring to realize that there are some excellent politicians around and they are not all Rob Fords and Peter Kents.

John,

The weather forecast certainly isn't the greatest and there is no use holding a meeting that people don't come for.

We can push to next week however the 18th is the Sustainable Waterloo Evening of Recognition and the ESL Committee Monthly meeting which will mean that myself, Deb, Greg Michaelanko and others won't be able to attend. What about next Wednesday?

Cheers,
Kevin.

The sidewalk and trees are already covered in ice at my place. And the weather forecast says it will get worse as the day goes on.

Do you agree that we should cancel the meeting?

If you do, I propose that we put it back by one week to Thursday April 18. Would that date work for you?

If we cancel the meeting, I would like to announce the new date at the same time.

Please decide on this soon so I can send out a notice to everybody. I suspect that even if we decide to go ahead I should send out a notice because people will be wondering if it is still on.

Let me know your thoughts quickly.

John
