Hi Manuel,
Your email was forwarded to me from Daphne Nichols. We are members of the
Grand River Environmental Network www.gren.ca and a green book is a great
idea. Several years ago, I was able to secure some funding from EcoAction
and one facet of the project was creating a combination dayplanner and Green
Guide to Waterloo Region in 2002 (I think). I believe I still have a few
copies of it left which I'd be happy to contribute. I included categories
like secondhand clothing, used building materials, making your own organic
wine etc.
I'd also suggest you, or a representative for this project, attend one of
our GREN meetings. We often have a guest speaker so it would be a good
opportunity to share ideas.
Regards,
Susan Koswan

Dear Environmental Friends and Colleagues,
Over the past couple of years, there have been suggestions during several
meetings among environmental activists and organizational representatives to
create a database of the local environmental organizations and organizations
that have the environment as part of their mission/vision. This online
database could be called the Green Book. The Community, Environment, and
Justice Research Group (CEJRG) under guidance of their community reference
group has taken initiative to develop such a Green Book. This will be done
in the context of a study exploring the existing environmental network in
the region.
At this time we are seeking your input regarding the attached proposal our
group put together. If you could review this and provide feedback especially
in regard to the proposed content to indicate if our group identified useful
categories to be published in such a Green Book. We would also like to hear
if we forgot an important category and/or if there is anything in the
current list that should not be there.
It would be great if you could send your feedback by Monday, November 1, to
Felix Munger at mung1340 at mylaurier.ca.
Thank you and have a wonderful weekend,
Manuel
