Please get me thoughts as quickly as possible on topics for the GREN meeting
next week in Elora. Sorry for being behind on this. I have been totally
swamped this month.

Susan K, you are great at putting together interesting notices. Can you put
together a notice to be used to send out to groups in the area as well as to
the local paper.

Location is in Norah¹s message below.

Thanks Toni, you are a doll! I am heavily into amphibian rescue at the
moment but will get one of the GRENers to send you a blurb asap. Thanks
again. Talk soon.. Norah (next week!)

OK booked an alternate spot in the Stage Room of the Elora Arts Centre
definitely holds more folks.

Could you put together a little blurb for us to send out by email to the
usual suspects‹and the paper not a minute to soon for them

Toni

Hey Toni.. You are quick!.. But if we send out a bulletin , put it in the
Elora and Fergus paper, would we draw a few more than 20 ? We would hope
for maybe 30... what thinkest thou.? Lots of enviro things going on here..
practically viral in all directions. Norah

Hi Don,

I have emailed you as a membe of GUFF recently but I am also a member of
Grand River Environmental Network. You can pick up some of our info at the
website www.gren.ca .
We have started our new year ( our 2nd year) and would like to continue with
connecting to the region on environmental issues. Usually we meet in
Kitchener.

Because we are an advocacy group for the GRwatershed we would like to have a
meeting next month Oct 15th in Elora. This group formed last year ... and
have an educated group of members.. mostly still working in various enviro
fields. John Jackson of Great Lakes United is the chair this year and Susan
Bryant of Elmira is secty. One of our issues is protecting watersheds. The
Waterloo Moraine and the Paris Galt moraines have featured strongly this
past year since they are being developed. Also, there is a pipeline group
advocating for more conservation and protection.

Meetings are from 715 -915pm. No money, no fees.. but lots of enviro talk..
They came to Guelph last spring where GUFF made a presentation on low impact
development and sustainability. (Guelph Urban Forest Friends) The GREN
meetings have 12-20 people working on various issues.. regional transit,
tree canopy, water protection, etc. So we do not need a huge space but would
like to reach out to other enviro groups in your area.

The members would like to know the issues and challenges in the Elora Fergus
part of the watershed. Would you be interested in hosting this ? Perhaps
Neighbourwoods would present or the ECEE? The successes and obstacles that
you have had?
Could we get space for a meeting and get the word out in Elora and Fergus
for enviro activists to come? That is a set date.

I look forward to hearing from you , Don. I emailed Toni recently but know
she is up to her ears in building a new home. And I realize that you are the
contact person now for the ECEE. So I will just copy her on this.

Looking forward to meeting you...

Norah Chaloner.
