I went to this symposium in Oakville several years ago. A friend of  mine had organized it and it was a really positive experience. I always wanted to bring it to town, but never got around to it – it’s good to see that someone else has. I have also met Candace recently – she was the main organizer of an urban agriculture/community garden event the beginning of May. 

I won’t be here June 28, but would highly recommend people going to this.

I was wondering if someone at GREN would be interested in giving a 5 minute introduction to GREN at an environmental symposium I am helping to organize.  This is the Awakening the Dreamer Symposium and it will be held at Unity Centre in Kitchener at the end of June (see below or attached poster).  I thought it would be a good fit since it mixes the environmental, social, and spiritual pieces of creating positive social and environmental change in the world.  You wouldn’t necessarily have to be there for the entire 4 hour event but could arrive around 4 or 4:30pm just to let people know of what you are doing (you could also drop off a display earlier if you like).  Part of the point of the symposium is for people to leave with some tools and connections to local community groups that creating change locally.  If you could let me know by next week if you would be available and/or interested it would be greatly appreciated (also if you have any questions).  It would also be great if you could pass the information about this along to others in your network.
