They are stating that it is Doug Ford and MPP Mike Harris Jr. that need to cancel it. Each is pointing fingers at the other in a very circular argument with no one taking responsibility.</div><div><br></div><div>However it certainly seems that the Premier is overlooking that it is the province that is funding the entire project, the province that demanded the extreme NDA that has bound all our elected officials, the province that refuses to release the Region from the NDA, and the province that has been making most decisions while the Region apparently has to get provincial approval for any action they try to take in this land assembly.<br><br><b>Action Required -</b> We need to keep up the pressures on all levels of government. We need Wilmot Township officials to listen to their citizens and to declare it is an unwilling host, we need the Region of Waterloo to abandon this site and undertake proper planning processes to locate the industrial mega-site in a better location congruent with our Regional Official Plan with far less negative impacts. And we need the province to keep Planning Authority with the Region of Waterloo while restoring our Regional Official Plan to provide essential long-term planning certainty.<br></div><div><br></div><div><br><b style="font-size: 14px;">2) National Farmers Union Rallies for Wilmot Farmers - </b>Congratulations to the NFU for an excellent event this past Sunday in Wilmot that included a delicious BBQ featuring a bounty of local farm products, tours of Tim & Eva’s cabbage farm making St. Jacob’s Sauerkraut, speeches, a tractor parade around the mega-site and through Baden drawing strong community support, as well as an aerial photo of tractors and citizens spelling out NO in Alfred’s farm field.
