<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; line-break: after-white-space;" class="">Hi GREN Folks,<div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Thank you to everyone who sent letters, made phone calls to Councillors, and appeared as delegations at the Special Regional Council Meeting on the Regional Official Plan Review this past week. More than two dozen delegations drown out the handful of developers and land speculators threatening to take the Region to the OMB/OLT if they didn’t get all the farmland they want to destroy. It was fantastic to see so many citizens and organizations from across our community with amazing presentations speaking up for the far more sustainable Growth Option #4 that we are proposing with no urban boundary expansion and no farmland loss. </div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">It was very clear that there are a lot of concerns with Growth Options #1, #2 and #3. Hopefully, we can continue to build support for Option #4. I have attached my presentation below that explains the concerns with the Regional Growth options and the advantages of Option #4.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""><b class="">Next Steps</b></div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">The action now shifts to all seven area municipalities as they only have three weeks to draft their own Staff Reports, present to their Councils, and get Council approvals for their Preferred Growth Option before the June 15th Regional Council meeting. We have been busy trying to get information on Option #4 to all area municipalities, Councillors, and Staff so that it can be considered as well. </div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">We don’t know the dates for most of the municipal meetings yet however, <b class="">Wellesley Township’s Staff Report recommending Option #2 is already coming to Wellesley Council on Tuesday (May 24th) for approval.</b> Myself, Mark Reusser and Kevin Eby are already signed up to delegate. I’m not sure that we need many delegations but it would be fantastic if anyone who lives in Wellesley Township or knows anyone on Wellesley Council can send letters of support for Option #4 in advance of Tuesday.
