<p>I think we're faced with an emergency: Torstar has just been sold for a song to two big time business guys who are taking it private. Torstar owns the Record. I fear that they may view their smaller newspapers, like the Record, as impediments to fattening
their personal purses - they are already talking about digitizing the Star. </p>

<p>I'm impressed with how much the Record has improved in the last few months. I think GREN needs to draft a letter to these two big heavyweights to show how important the Record is for keeping us well informed in Waterloo Region.</p>

<p>We need to act now.</p>
