The Kitchener-Waterloo Chapter of the Council of Canadians is pleased to invite you to <u>two</u> important events to talk about climate change and what we can do about it.<br>

<u><span style="color:#006400;"><strong>Pipelines, Tar Sands and the Climate</strong></span></u><br>
<br>
Join us for an evening of discussion analyzing the faulty logic behind expanding the Trans Mountain tar sands pipeline when the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says humans must cut emissions in half in the next 10<em> </em>years.<br>
<br>
Hear from keynote speaker <strong>Professor Gordon Laxer</strong>, Political Economist, founding director of Parkland Institute in Alberta and a specialist on pipelines, energy and the environment, and panellists <strong>Dr. Angela Carter</strong>, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, University of Waterloo Political Science, and <strong>Dr. John Peters</strong>, Associate Professor, Labour Studies, Laurentian University.<br>

The evening will be moderated by <strong>Dr. Daniel Scott</strong>, University Research Chair in Climate and Society and Executive Director, Interdisciplinary Centre on Climate Change, University of Waterloo.<br>
