Hi<br>
I don't know specifically what species of bird are in the barns.<br>
Best guess would be barn swallows. <br>
The remediation is to build an open sided picnic shelter with lots
of exposed rafters where they can build their mud nests. Nest
building is in May so the alternative structure should be built
before the following May after demolition of the old barns.<br>

Vernile on CBC-KW radio this morning -she said they're
breaking ground to widen Shirley Ave. to 4 lanes to get
ready for extending Wellington St. (over the river ?) into
Breslau/Bridgeport area, and have to tear down 2 old barns
that are full of endangered birds, and also some kind of
rare mussel + fish are living in the river where it will
be "disturbed" - this is all for building the new highway
