<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma","sans-serif";color:black">During this activity we will discuss and explore the Village 1 woodlot. The Village 1 woodlot is the largest remaining, wooded green space on campus. It harbors
a variety of habitats ranging from a cold-water creek to marsh and Great Lakes-St. Lawrence forest. The woodlot likely contains provincially rare species and exhibits interesting geological features, but currently not much is known about its mammal, bird,
reptile, amphibian, insect and fungal communities. Unfortunately, the ecological integrity of the woodlot is threatened by invasion of various species including European buckthorn, garlic mustard and goldenrod. This activity will start in the ENV Ecology lab,
proceed to the Village 1 woodlot and then move on to the Grad House at 4:00 p.m. for refreshments. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
