Monday’s election is critically important for the future of our community. It will determine whether the policy and program items that we have fought for so hard over the past years will be continued, enhanced and properly implemented. So please get out and vote on Monday, if you haven’t voted all ready. And please urge your friends to vote too.<BR>

This is going to be a crucial election for those of us in Waterloo Region because there are stark contrasts among the candidates on a number of important long-term issues such as the Regional Official Plan, LRT and Rapid Transit, Westside Waterloo Traffic Issues, protection of environmentally sensitive areas, environmentally sensitive landscapes, the country-side line and a variety of other environmental initiatives. Those elected on Monday at both the Regional and City and Township levels of government will have a major role in determining the long-term well-being of our community.<BR>
