Hi folks,

Apologies for the mass email, but I just want to
quickly inform you about an upcoming event that I'm involved in producing.

On Thursday, May 8, a Toronto-based organization called Our
Horizon will be presenting and discussing their signature idea at CIGI in uptown
Waterloo: putting warning labels on gas pumps to convey the dangers of climate
change (in much the same vein as the health warnings on cigarette packages).
They are hoping to attract range of locals to the event – municipal staff and
elected officials, community builders and environmentalists, academics and
students, potential funders and folks who work for NGOs and other like-minded
organizations. Their objective, now that their legal research is complete, is to
explain the concept more deeply and ideally work on getting municipalities
across Canada to seriously consider the idea.
