Susan is a long-serving and self-taught expert whose dedication has earned her much recognition, including an upcoming induction to the Waterloo Region Hall of Fame. She will be one of eight inductees honoured on <b>Sunday, April 27th at the Waterloo Region Museum</b> in Kitchener. <br>

As I read through the latest <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://reepgreen.us4.list-manage.com/track/click?u=ee2f8edcf629cf4e7ef3c6bcf&id=02f3d11dfe&e=ea51686e52" style="color:#336699;font-weight:normal;text-decoration:underline;">IPCC report on Climate Change</a> it reinforced for me the importance of the work that all of us are doing locally, not only reducing the impacts from climate change, but also in adapting to them. Recently, TransitionKW highlighted a number of local initiatives (including REEP’s RAIN Program) when it launched the <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://reepgreen.us4.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=ee2f8edcf629cf4e7ef3c6bcf&id=8b2258cb3e&e=ea51686e52" style="color:#336699;font-weight:normal;text-decoration:underline;">Climate Adaptation Toolkit</a> to provide useful steps that people can integrate into their daily routines.<br>
<br>
Many groups are working towards adaptation at the provincial level also. REEP is a member of <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://reepgreen.us4.list-manage.com/track/click?u=ee2f8edcf629cf4e7ef3c6bcf&id=de3375ecee&e=ea51686e52" style="color:#336699;font-weight:normal;text-decoration:underline;">Green Infrastructure Ontario</a>, with the goal of conserving, maintaining and improving living green infrastructure across Ontario. <br>
<br>
On the mitigation front, the <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://reepgreen.us4.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=ee2f8edcf629cf4e7ef3c6bcf&id=33585805d5&e=ea51686e52" style="color:#336699;font-weight:normal;text-decoration:underline;">Climate Action Plan for Waterloo Region: Living Smarter in 2020</a> is entering a new phase as we begin implementation of our community-wide greenhouse gas emission reduction. Onward we go!<br>
