FYI - the coalition against Line 9 is presenting at the GRCA council mtg at 400 Clyde Rd in Cambridge on Fri Sept 27. Meeting is from 9 to noon; they haven't been told where they are on the agenda yet. They're planning to rally outside starting at 8:30 a.m.

The time and location are both inconvenient for most folks, but if some of you can be present it would be much appreciated. Last week their presentation at Regional Ccl was well supported by the public gallery, and Council decided to ask staff to prepare a report on line 9. Considering that the NEB hearing is just 3 weeks away, there isn't much time for that.

At least the media are belatedly covering line 9. According to the W Chronicle, the GRCA thinks it has no influence on Enbridge's plans, and sees its only role as providing Enbridge with info on river flows etc so the company can conduct emergency spill training exercises. Sounds as if they could use a little prodding to at least sign the declaration. http://noline9wr.ca/?q=declaration

Let me know if you can attend, and if you'd be driving down.
