that the CBC has agreed to extend service to Waterloo Region and provide new local radio and internet services to the community in the fall of 2012.<br><br>Our government remains committed to supporting the CBC in its mandate as our national broadcaster. The CBC plays an important role in providing uniquely Canadian programming that contributes to our shared national consciousness and identity. New local services will ensure that Kitchener-Waterloo residents are better served by our public broadcaster, and at the same time will allow our region to be more involved in the national conversation.<br><br>As the MP for Kitchener-Waterloo, I am proud to represent this community and advocate for our residents.
