Thanks Peter. This is a keystone issue for the survival of profit-seeking humanity that especially all environmentalists should give the highest priority to (what profit humanity to gain the whole world but loose our life support system?) . Robert M

PS: CAUTION -- WHAT FOLLOWS COULD BE VERY UPSETTING. Not unrelated, GREN's majority support (except 2 of us for sure) of the Region's current LRT proposal -- even though probably none of you sufficiently know the complexity of what you are supporting -- is a very bad decision. At a very critical time when humanity must use relatively scarce resources to sustainablize our way of Life (so as to fundamentally protect the planet), the Region's very non-innovative proposal would use excessive resources (money and materials) to create a partial LRT-based system that would ill-benefit our local economy, our community or our environment -- and be a great example of a World Innovative HUB dramatically failing to use proven technological innovations to succeed. I state this as probably the only citizen who has sufficiently researched the RTI project thus enabling me to constructively criticize its plan as a basis for suggesting proven technological enhancements which all of you GREN cheerleaders have shown at best a superficial interest ! (I do appreciate the interest of you Peter and Alisa.) But for the rest of you, ego & competitiveness seem to get in the way of truth seeking and innovation-phylia in collaboration with others. And shame on you for creating such an un-loving climate at GREN meetings! (I especially did not appreciate the reluctance of John to allow me to address the group about my LRT system ideas, nor did I appreciate the 2 women who mocked me as I was about to speak!)

On 20-May-11, at 12:53 PM, Peter Kofler wrote:

http://www.alternet.org/environment/150923/vision%3A_nature_needs_rights_--_why_our_human-centric_model_will_doom_us_and_the_rest_of_the_planet/?page=entire _______________________________________________
All mailing list
All@gren.ca
http://gren.ca/mailman/listinfo/all_gren.ca
