<html><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; ">If one side does not wish to talk, then no talks. But perhaps the Kitchener results suggest that many in Kitchener -- as with many surrounding cities like Guelph, Stratford, Brantford, even Cambridge -- have benefited (mostly university campus-wise) &/or would want to benefit more from the Waterloo brand with its great innovation potential. So to help make an even bigger innovation "splash in the World" than a K-W merger, I have suggested the IDEA of a Greater Waterloo Innovation District that would include WR, G, S, B, W & their counties. It could be the participatory internet "vehicle" wherein politicians, staff, citizens and other organizations operate a Collaborative IDEAS Culture. Here we would use IDEAS to reduce(+) taxes and improve services (part of a Smart Government Approach) as we re-invent/design/plan a viable interrelated (to the World) future. <div><br></div><div>I had expressed this IDEA of a Greater Waterloo Innovation District in my last interview with Jeff Outhit for his (and the Record's) latest "discredit Robert" article. His interpretation of this IDEA was "an 'innovation district' for area communities", a rather vague conception. I will be picking myself up and continuing my quest.</div><div><br></div><div>Robert</div><div><div><br></div><div><br><div><div>On 25-Oct-10, at 10:06 PM, Lori Strothard wrote:</div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline"><blockquote type="cite"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: separate; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Helvetica; font-size: medium; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: auto; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; "><div bgcolor="#ffffff"><div>yes but apparently 65% of Kitchener voters want to talk about amalgamation, so does that mean anything?
