<div>I received this notice from Kristen Thompson, Norfolk ALUS program.  I should have sent this out earlier, but with my hectic schedule this summer, I didn't.</div>

<div>I am not planning to organize another trip to Norfolk as we did last year, and I notice this is not advertised on their website to the general public, but I am sure if anyone would like to learn more or may advocate for the ALUS program, whether it be a farmer, a politician, or other environmental groups, I'm sure they would be welcomed.  (They have 10 people signed up for the August 19th farm tour as of today, so they have room for more on the school bus; lunch provided.)</div>

<div>Forest Fest, which is being held this weekend is geared more to the general public, and includes an ALUS farm tour as well.</div>

<p class="MsoNormal"><em><font color="#000099">The Norfolk ALUS Team hopes this newsletter finds you well and enjoying this beautiful summer.  With another successful planting season under our belt we are now enjoying the growing season, visiting our farm participants, and organizing tours and events to showcase the work that has gone on in Norfolk County.  In celebration of the 2010 International Year of Biodiversity the ALUS team will be hosting a tour on <b>August 19^th</b> that will showcase both the agricultural diversity of Norfolk County and its rich biological diversity.  We invite you all to attend and look forward to seeing you there.  </font></em></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><em><font color="#000099">ALUS is also working in partnership with the St. Williams Conservation Reserve Community Council to organize the first annual Forest Fest, an event which will feature <span lang="EN-GB">local artists, musicians and activities for young and old alike.  Activities include retriever dog trials at the pond, horse drawn wagon tours of the nursery, greenhouse tours, bus tours of  ALUS Demonstration Farm sites, and guided hikes to with area biologist to learn about the unique species at risk located in the St. Williams Conservation Reserve, and displays by forest related organizations and businesses.  This weekend event will also feature the grand opening of the St. Williams Nursery and Ecology Centre.</span></font></em></p>
