will eliminate the wintering American Bald Eagle from the City of <st1:City
w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Kitchener</st1:place></st1:City>. On December
18<sup>th</sup>, while conducting the annual Christmas Bird Count, I saw 4
eagles between the Club House and the 401 bridge over the <st1:place w:st="on">Grand
River</st1:place>. Three of these birds were within 2 minutes of each
other and flew outside of the area when they discovered our presence. A
bridge and trail will bring unprecedented human activity in the area where the
birds will fish, perch, preen, socialize and begin courtship activities. I
fear they will be lost from this area which has been relatively quiet during
the winterseason. In addition, visiting winter waterfowl (i.e. ducks such
as Goldeneye, Bufflehead and Common Merganser) will also be disturbed and take to
unnecessary flight because they are unused to humans and their pets. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
