Good Day,
Concern in the community continues to increase about this massive land assembly for some sort of industrial development in Wilmot Township. Local farmers are asking for our support at the Wilmot Council Meeting tonight in Baden at 7:00pm.
Their instructions are as follows:
Council Meeting - We have arranged for Wilmot Township Council to hear our issues Monday evening at the township offices in Baden (60 Snyder's Road West) . The meeting will start at 7:00pm.and our presentation will be near the beginning of the agenda. We thank the councillors and Mayor Salonen for understanding that this item is critical for community input. A few points of clarity to ensure that our presentation is heard effectively and professionally.
Although the council chambers are spacious not everyone will be able to get in. The basement meeting room will be available for seating for those interested in getting into the building.
The landowner group will be mixing with those in attendance outside the building. Feel free to talk to them about the issues.
I will have a 6-7 minute presentation which may be followed by questions from the councilors and mayor. The presentation will be put on our website following the meeting.
The audience allowed into the council chambers should remain dignified with no cheering, taunting or loud outbursts.
We hope to present issues of concern which we want the council to present to regional and provincial planning staff as well as their respective leadership teams. As I will note in my presentation, we realize the township council and staff are not the final decision makers here and at least they have agreed to hear our concerns.
Thanks again for all your support.
There is an excellent article by Luisa D’Amato in today’s Record asking all the right questions:

There is an online petition with over 4,000 signatures already. Please sign and promote it:

Please share any questions or ideas and lets see how we can help to encourage a better location with far less negative impacts for this massive proposed development (it’s more than an 8.5 km long drive just to go around the proposed perimeter of all the farmland to be acquired for development) .
Cheers,
Kevin.
