[All] West 5 Tour In London, Fri Oct 13th at 2:00pm

Good morning GREN folks,

An invitation has been extended to any GREN members who would like to join GreenWR (www.greenwr.org), a local grassroots organization promoting Green Development Standards to help ensure we better meet our climate targets, on a tour of West 5 in London.  West 5 is an all-solar, net-zero community that is part of London and has done many innovative things for sustainability.

The tour will be given by the project’s lead engineer Derek Satnik from s2e Technology in St. Jacobs.

We will be meeting at West 5 (https://west5.ca/) at 2:00pm on Friday, October 13th and there will be options to carpool down to London.  

Please let me know if you would be interested in joining the citizens, elected officials, developers, and municipal staff on this tour to see what we can learn and how we can bring needed innovations to our local communities.

GreenWR has organized a 2 hour walking tour of London’s all-solar neighbourhood of West 5 (west5.ca <http://west5.ca/>) for Regional township mayors, councillors, staff, builders, and developers. 
The tour begins on-site at 2pm on October 13th and will be conducted by the project’s lead engineer from s2e Tech, St Jacobs. 

West 5 is a 15 minute neighbourhood that produces all its own power using solar panels, supported by energy efficient building techniques. 30% of the 70 acre Sifton residential and commercial development is complete and occupied. Checkout west5.ca <http://west5.ca/> for details.
