Enbridge Line 3 permanently damaged this aquifer in Minnesota.
I saw similar concerns in Canada with Enbridge Line 10. My video here:

Upwelling of previously pristine water with gray, pudding-like contamination in LaSalle Valley near Enbridge Line 3 aquifer breach “remediation area” (credit: Heidi Meade)
Dear Louisette,
October 1, 2022. It’s a day we all hoped never to see – the 1-year anniversary of tar sands oil running through Enbridge’s Line 3 expansion across Anishinaabe lands in northern Minnesota. The good news? Far as we know, it hasn’t spilled oil – yet. The terrible news? We are only beginning to understand the extent of Enbridge’s damage to our fragile fresh water systems – compounded by their botched attempts to fix it.
See the damage & Call on federal agencies to help
Some 300 million gallons of groundwater have been lost due to Enbridge’s failures – and counting. In August, Waadookawaad Amikwag (Those Who Help Beaver)* confirmed Enbridge’s “fix” of the Line 3 aquifer breach at LaSalle Creek was a failure and had been continuously stealing water from the ground – about 20 gallons of groundwater per minute – in addition to other unreported ongoing construction damage. The Enbridge aquifer breach near Fond du Lac is not fully repaired, either.
Enbridge’s Line 3 horizontal directional drilling failure rate was a shocking 63%**. The amount of toxic frac-out fluid released into surface and groundwater has never been reported, the impact on water quality ignored by the Canadian corporation and MN state agencies.
It’s been a year of Enbridge hiding and deepening destruction, while the water protectors who tried to stop Enbridge’s reckless, rushed work continue documenting the damage and facing criminal charges in court. Enbridge paid MN authorities over $8.6 million to remove water protectors from the violent path of Line 3, while simultaneously violating dozens of legal permits and damaging pristine waterways.
Minnesota state agencies have not done enough to keep the public informed or ensure our water is safe. Instead, state regulators have continued protecting the Canadian multinational. But the new video evidence says it all: Enbridge has done even more damage than previously known, and they don’t know how to fix it. They must be held accountable and stopped.
Watch the video & Ask EPA & Army Corps to help
Thank you for staying in this fight with us.
