Hi folks
There has been a clear cut of the Howald Property in the area of known Endangered Brown bats and ESA reports that clearly identified Hooded Warblers, Acadian Flyacatchers and Jefferson Salamanders in the area. (physical samples are at Wilfrid Laurier collected during the Laurel Creek Watershed Study.)
Bat boxes remain at the end of his property line on the Columbia Forest side of the fence at the end of Butternut where you can see mature trees on the ground. They culled all the trees and there is a clear site line from Colombia Forest to Laurel Creek Subdivision to the North now.

This is the view from Colombia Forest at Royal Fern and from the little parkette at the end of Butternut Ave. to the north west Corner of the street.
