I encourage you to consider doing this if this speaks to you. A more progressive mayor who actively and seriously considers the opinions and concerns of his constituents throughout the Hallman Pit application process would be more supportive to our community, township and the region. Please share this message with those you feel may be interested in supporting this cause.
Text from Citizens for a Democratic Wilmot (on Facebook)
"Mayor Les Armstrong‘s perplexing refusal to genuinely acknowledge and apologize for the immense pain his recent words and actions have caused have now cast a shadow over Wilmot and its citizens through national media coverage of his privileged obstinance.
His lack of leadership and civic representation as a Mayor continues to erode much of the good work of current and past councils, community leaders, volunteers and this community of caring people working together to build upon a sure foundation.
His words and subsequent repugnant stance is unacceptable have become the antithesis of the Vision of Wilmot Township: “Wilmot is a cohesive, vibrant and welcoming countryside community.”
His role as head of council is to provide leadership to council and to represent the municipality with honesty, transparency, service to community and the rights of all, no matter their position, colour, race, religion, ability, sexual orientation or gender.
If Mayor Armstrong, does not represent you and your human rights views please reach out to the Clerks’ office and all Township Councilors at:
clerks at wilmot.ca and
