[All] Lake Erie is by law a PERSON

Hi folks!
The measure passed easily, which means citizens will be able to sue on behalf of the lake whenever its right to flourish is being contravened — that is, whenever it’s in danger of major environmental harm.

Knowing the Grand River and the Waterloo Moraine both flow to Erie it is reasonable to state we share the same watershed therefore the protections afforded to Erie by US law may afford additional provisions that could be legally applied to protect water here in Cananda

I would love to see if GREN can secure the legal documents associated with this victory. It could certainly could lend strength to our local conservation efforts which is a blessing considering all the challenges we've been handed with this current Provincial government. I was wondering if this ruling could help strengthen our position re: Bill 66 and water toxicity concerns?
