 Hi folks
I've been busy working on many issues right now but let me fill you in on the Amazon fires. The basic reason is it's for soya crops.
On Twitter Dr. Vandana Shiva explained how Bayer/Monsanto and Cargill all stood to profit from the GMO soya in Brazil.
Canadian soybeans dominated the non-GM market in southeast Asian, but non-GM are only 20% of the market. GM soybeans dominate the soybean food market in Indonesia and the United States is its biggest supplier. This article stated last year, “To be competitive you can’t have the same soybean as the guy in Brazil, Argentina, Ukraine and all that,” he said. “You need something different. Maybe go to higher-value soybeans or high energy, whatever.”

During the first 9 months of China’s 2018/19 market year, when the U.S. tariff took full effect, Brazil’s share [of China’s soybean import market] rose to 77%, while the U.S. share fell to 10 percent.

Of  course Trump's stance on China made things worse https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-08-16/china-ramps-up-brazil-soy-imports-as-u-s-trade-war-worsens
US farmers have been blowing the whistle on the lack of support from the Trump Admin https://www.telegraph.co.uk/china-watch/business/us-risks-losing-china-soybean-market/
Former president Lula da Silva explained to the Bolsonaro government how it is possible to find those responsible for the fires that are destroying the Amazon rainforest. His concept was on a video on Twitter and basically he states, we know where the fires started from satellite photos. All we have to do is find the land owners who didn't report the fires and start tracking those individuals down. They are the more likely culprits.
