I was pleased to read the story about how the City of Kitchener is exploring innovative green technology that has the potential to clean storm run-off before it reaches our rivers and creeks.

We learn from the story that the new technology also has the potential to reduce flooding, a concern that is becoming even more important with climate change. The city deserves a lot of credit for testing this new technology.

One can only imagine the wonderful things the Ontario government could accomplish if it followed the city's lead and embraced new green technology instead of spending millions and millions of dollars to challenge a carbon tax that most of the population supports.
