Public Forum: Partnering with Nature to Heal the Biosphere

Earth is in crisis, but there is much we can and should do. How can we work with nature to heal the wounds we’ve inflicted?

A handful of leading edge thinkers will be presenting their solutions at a public forum at the main branch of the Kitchener Public Library Theatre on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018 from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. Tickets are free, but registration is required through Eventbrite. <https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/partnering-with-nature-to-heal-the-biosphere-tickets-50117908012?utm_campaign=new_event_email&utm_medium=email&utm_source=eb_email&utm_term=viewmyevent_button> Facebook <https://www.facebook.com/events/981675128682262/>

The panel, discussion and Q&A will be moderated by John Jackson, chair of the Grand River Environmental Network www.gren.ca <http://www.gren.ca/>

This event will honour Michael Purves-Smith <https://www.therecord.com/news-story/8081092-purves-smith-gentle-beautiful-/>, who initiated the project, but did not live to see it take place. Michael’s goal was to raise awareness in Waterloo Region of the urgency for a holistic solution to the crisis of the biosphere.

All speakers have been involved in research and practices that contribute to the reversal of greenhouse gas emissions through natural agricultural approaches and tree-planting to restore land, and from environmental activists who see the need to encourage any and all methods to draw down existing carbon that will complement the technological methods of preventing future emissions.
