[All] documentaries on Elmira's contaminated water

I wonder why they need “ written approval” from Lanxess to show the films? Is this not a free world/ democracy? As long as they clearly state somewhere, like in the introduction or something, that these things happened before Lanxess took over Chemtura, shouldn’t that be enough?
