Urgent Add your voice to the WaterScape submission by March 6, 2018sorry for the very late notice -this is due by the end of today- but I just saw it now- Just thought I would forward it in light of the Nestle water-taking in nearby Elora and Fergus. If it doesn't transfer properly it is from the Ontario Environment Network - "WAterscape -Joint Submission"  re: Water Policies in Ontario. There is a form to fill out if you support more stringent rules.

                              Do you believe that water could be better protected in Ontario?  If so, Please add your voice to our Joint Submission to the Province before the end of day Tuesday, March 6, 2018.

                              You can sign on as an individual or an organization if you are in Ontario by filling out this form or sending an email to co_chair at oen.ca

                              Please share this email and encourage others to add their voice. Consider asking friends and family and your organization’s colleagues and members to endorse as individuals as well.   

                              Now all the details. (some information from above is repeated below).

                              Over 3 weeks in February, through WaterScape, community discussions on water have occurred in response to the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs initiative Protecting Water for Future Generations: Growing the Greenbelt in the Outer Ring. These discussions included an overview of water policy in Ontario. The WaterScape partners, Canadian Environmental Law Association, Ontario Environment Network, and, Ontario Headwaters Institute, are now asking you to endorse our Joint Submission. 

                              In the Public Consultation Document provided by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, the final question is open-ended and invites comments on any initiatives that need to be considered to protect water for future generations. Our submission, therefore, speaks both directly to the proposed plans to study areas for Greenbelt expansion and to the broader public policy needs related to water protection. Our submission is also informed by community discussions we held between Feb 6 and Feb 22. 

                              We urge you to exercise your legal right to provide comments. Once you have reviewed our submission, we are inviting you to add your name to the submission as an individual or as the representative of an organization. Either can be added by filling out this electronic form or by sending an email to co_chair at oen.ca.  Please note we do not require for individual or organization endorsement, electronic signature, full address, nor, logo. We must have received your endorsement by end of Tuesday, March 6, 2018, in order to be included in the Joint Submission.
