Hi folks
In the attachments I include a photo of the wetland that used to be at the location of the parking lot by Staples at the Ira Needles Mall. The GRCA data I have stated there was NO WETLAND here. Googl earth shows otherwise. Here is the video I of the wetland as it was being drained. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-J3WNysFu8The wetland that was here formed AS A KETTLE POND, yet the geology work done was too shallow and too few without regard for sediment type or quarterly geology. Depth tested was 1-3 meters. The idea that clay is impervious is WRONG. Vertical fractures happen. The idea that snowshoe effects can prevent sinkage is also wrong. The earth is much stronger than a thin layer of asphalt. I commented on this project: Ira Needles OPA #74, ZC-06-06 and informed staff of the shallow bore hole data and lack of regard for the wetland areas etc. It's on the record. I spoke of the PEAT layers here. This area needs a proper Hydro geological assessment to protect the people and industries.

Hi folks
I visited Staples at the Boardwalk mal and saw several long lines of pavement cracked with no snow in the groovea implying it happened fast and recently. I called police and public utilities. Police clairified mall management is the protocol so I informed staff at Staples. The City should be able to help with that too. This mall was built over a large wetland complex so it doesn't surprise me. The bore hole data was too shallow and too few. This is how kettle ponds formed. If water hits peat or limestone layers sinkholes can happen quick. Photos in attachment. Support G
reenbelt expansion!
