Line 10 Permit expires soon...Enbridge Line 10 was approved using section 58 of the NEB Act. It is set to expire on Jan. 26, 2018. Construction is still underway but there has been no permit renewal to date. I am in dialogue with the NEB currently about the lack of EA on the lands where the work is being done. An archaeologically sensitive area was found but the NEB just gave permission to Enbridge to drill a bore hole under it. Documents in the attachments including the map. How can folks make prior and informed consent if the archaeology isn't even done yet? Hmmmm.

Interesting report by Desmog showing the connection of Hydro projects to pipeline schemes. A recent document filed by Manitoba Hydro to the province’s public utilities board estimated that the cancelled Energy East pipeline will result in a loss of 534 gigawatt-hours in annual demand, equivalent to 12 per cent of their Hydro dam’s production. The new Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain pipeline would use 1,046 gigawatt hours per year or the equivalent of about 20% of the production of the Site C dam (about half of that power will be consumed in B.C. with the other half being consumed in Alberta).
