What if our last act could be a gift to the planet? Determined that his final resting place will benefit the earth, musician, psychiatrist, and folk dancer Clark Wang prepares for his own green burial while battling lymphoma. The spirited Clark and his partner Jane, boldly facing his mortality, embrace the planning of a spiritually meaningful funeral and join with a compassionate local cemetarian to use green burial to save a North Carolina woods from being clear-cut.
With poignancy and unexpected humor, A Will for the Woods portrays the last days of a multifaceted advocate – and one community's role in the genesis of a revolutionary movement. As the film follows Clark's dream of leaving a legacy in harmony with timeless cycles, environmentalism takes on a profound intimacy.
After the film join panellists and Good Green Death Project Instigators, Susan Koswan and Ellen Newman to learn more about their project, what green funeral and burial options are currently available in the region, and get answers to all those questions you've been *dying* to ask. ;-)

Chalk River 10 year licence renewal meets Indigenous Opposition
Anishinabek Nation Grand Council Chief Patrick Madahbee says that the Anishinabek Nation is standing with the Iroquois Caucus opposing the unprecedented 10-year license to run Chalk River Laboratories.
“The new license sets the stage for the building and testing of a new generation of small nuclear reactors at Chalk River,” says Grand Council Chief Madahbee. “They are going to create a giant dump on the surface that could leach radioactive waste into the Ottawa River. The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission has completely disregarded our concerns and recommendations. We assert inherent ownership of the water and jurisdiction within our regions and traditional territories. As I have said before, we will stand with our Iroquois allies to protect the drinking water. Water is the lifeblood of Mother Earth.”

Melting Ice Sheets changing PH levels in Antarctic Waters
Oceanographers have detected a trend of decreasing salinity in Antarctic waters fed by ice sheet melt. That affects the density of the deep, very cold waters that drive key ocean currents. (It also signals the importance of ice sheets and glacier systems to maintain healthy PH balance in the oceans!)
