Don’t miss this rare opportunity for an in-person lecture with Dr. Guy McPherson (http://www.guymcpherson.net/), professor emeritus and conservation biologist from U Arizona. Dr. McPherson is a controversial climate change spokesperson who argues that the severe impacts of climate change are much closer than we expect, and potentially more severe.

Dr. McPherson believes that the cautious messaging from most climate experts prevents us from supporting the aggressive action that is needed to address this challenge. As a result, governments are moving far too slowly on climate action despite their ambitious public statements. The latest findings from the UN (https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/oct/31/un-warns-of-unacceptable-greenhouse-gas-emissions-gap), including the announcement of record carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere (https://public.wmo.int/en/media/press-release/greenhouse-gas-concentrations-surge-new-record) suggest he is right.
