Thanks Deb- great article - what a treasure we have and how quickly it can be gone if people don't work to protect it. If people don't like Kathleen Wynne for many reasons, I hope they at least like her for supporting this initiative! As one drives to Toronto and back along the 401 these days we see several once vibrant farms which have become derelict /abandoned- very sad to see. Huge "on-time delivey" warehouses are taking over unfortunately. Kudos to Kevin for all his hard work on this and the rewarding turn -around in attitude toward this worthwhile designation process. I wish it had extended to where the new disruptive Highway 7 to Guelph through prime farmland is underway. Scroll down to the bottom of this link to see an event celebrating the new "The Greenbelt Book " at Wordsworth Books on May 30th - http://www.greenbelt.ca/book

  Hi everyone:

Thought you might be interested in seeing this article on the Greenbelt and Growth Plan that was featured in the Toronto Star. Kevin Thomason has been quoted, and there is a quote from Kevin Eby there as well. Great job, Kevin on bringing attention to the need for expansion of the Greenbelt to Waterloo Region!
