We have a GREN meeting scheduled for this Thursday the 15th. Another event that is a central part of GREN's work on green areas and agricultural land protection has come up that is happening that same evening. As a result, we have decided to urge all our members to go to the Kitchener Library instead to participate in this critical juncture. Our next GREN meeting will be held on November 22nd at our regular location. Please mark that in your calendar.

See below for detail on this Thursday's evening:

SmartGrowth Waterloo Region Growth Plan and Greenbelt Review Evening

On Thursday, September 15th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the main branch of the Kitchener Public Library on Queen Street in downtown Kitchener, SmartGrowth Waterloo Region is going to be having an evening of discussion, ideas, and feedback for government regarding the pending deadline for submissions on the provincial Growth Plan and Greenbelt Plans Review. We all need to speak up now to help ensure Waterloo Region isn't left out of the Greenbelt again and to ensure that we get the provincial support needed to reinforce our local rural protections and urban renewal efforts.

Please join us for interesting discussions and collaborative help drafting our individual submissions to the provincial government. Homemade baked goods and refreshments will be provided. It should be a fun and informative evening that will help to ensure a strong series of submissions from the citizens of Waterloo Region on the future that we would like to see for our communities.

We look forward to seeing you there.

John
