Good morning GREN folks, 

Today, October 31st is the final day to speak up and provide your feedback to the provincial government on the proposed amendments to the Co-ordinated Review of the Greenbelt, Niagara Escarpment and Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plans as well as the Growth Plan (Places to Grow Act).

We need to tell the provincial government to expand the Greenbelt to the Grand River Watershed to reinforce our local protections such as the Waterloo Region Protected Countryside and Countryside Line.  We also need to speak up in support of SmartGrowth, less urban sprawl, and more sustainable planning practices.

If you only have a minute please sign and this pre-written letter (that you can edit) to the minister and key officials at:

If you have specific concerns or points you would like to reinforce you can e-mail your comments and feedback to:

You can also upload any documents, maps, or letters you may have directly to the the Ministry of Municipal Affairs website at:

We have a provincial government that seems motivated to take action and listen to the environmental community.  They need to hear from us and see firsthand that thousands of people want better environmental protection and smarter growth.  Please pass this e-mail along to others asking them to act today and please be sure to speak up now to ensure that we have the best possible future quality of life in our region.
