Hi folks
I've been busy like crazy but making great progress in leaps and bounds.
I just sent off an email to Engineering Canada regarding the lack of reasonable criteria for completeness of Engineering reports with the NEB. It is the weakest link. I believe that PM Harper abolished the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act specifically to strip the standards of report completion away from the NEB process so he could rush the approvals quickly but if the standards don't meet with Provincial, Municipal or Hydro's licencing requirements, it is reasonable to argue work should be deemed insufficient and incomplete by the NEB unless it meets this most basic licencing criteria.
I have forwarded these concerns to City and Region of Waterloo, City of Waterloo, City of Hamilton as well as the GRCA, Ministery of Environment, Ministry of Natural Resources and Municipal Affairs and Housing, my MP and MPP.  I just got off the phone with Bardish's office.  I didn't tap into First Nation's issues per say knowing that's not their jurisdictional power. Being Mi'kmaq/Metis/Canadian I am one of the few folks who know how the law works on all sides of the issues, so I stayed strategically on point on voicing issues with Canadian regulators to note the fault within their own respective mandate requirements. If the current NEB criteria isn't good for hydro or municipal criteria it's not good for anyone else.
I've also notified media folks but I doubt they will pick up the gauntlet. Fifth estate, CTV, CBC and others seem to ignore everything I send them but it's worth a shot anyways.

Also, I was on my way home from driving my kid to school when CBC announced the Anti Racism Directorate is hosting an event at the Kitchener Rotunda from 7-10pm today to get feedback on issues of racism against minorities and First Nation's people.
