Hello All,

See msg below from Council of Cdns. Organizing mtg is Oct 19.

They do much of the same work as GREN - especially the protection of
water.  They're also interested in stopping the ill effects of trade deals
and corporate control of media etc, and saving medicare from privatization.

Hope some GRENers can come out to this.

Dear Eleanor,

Some Council of Canadians supporters in the Kitchener-Waterloo area would
like to start up a new local chapter to tackle social justice issues
related to the Council’s campaign areas of water, health care, trade,
democracy and energy and climate justice. Read more about our campaigns on
our website at canadians.org <http://www.canadians.org>.

We will be holding a public meeting on Wednesday, October 19 at 7:00 p.m.
to start this exciting process. Please join us to learn more about taking
action with like-minded people who want to make a difference and have the
energy and determination to make it happen! We will provide information on
various ways you can participate in the chapter – from following the work
online, joining a listserv to receive locally-relevant email bulletins, to
becoming an active member of the campaigns and elected committees.
