Below is information on the City of Kitchener's Community Environmental Improvement Grants. Applications for this year must be in by October 14.

Community Environmental Improvement Grant (CEIG)

$5000 is available for projects that...

Do you have an idea for a project that can improve our environment?

The City of Kitchener strongly supports environmental stewardship and the development of community based environmental projects.

We offer Community Environmental Improvement Grants in order to assist organizations, associations or groups working towards building a cleaner, healthier more environmentally sustainable Kitchener.

ü Increase awareness of how we view and treat air, water and land resources, and encourage solutions to improve the quality of these resources; 

ü Promote healthy lifestyle practices;

ü Foster a sense of environmental stewardship;

ü Promote and initiate the development of short term, intermediate and long term community-based environmental programs; and

ü Support environmental research.
