Hi GRENers,

 

Not GREN related, but thought I'd let you know that I'm organizing a
fundraiser for Nepal, based on the recent event in Toronto - 100 Guitars
Softly Falling. It was a cool promotion for a new play based on the movie
Once, where they put out the word to get 100 guitarists to come to the
Mirvish Theatre to all play the same song. Turns out they got over 900!!!!!

My mind put that and the disastrous earthquake in Nepal and the recent death
of Ben E King together. 

 

So on Sunday May 24, we have the Registry Theatre from 2 - 4 to bring in 100
guitarists to play and sing Stand By Me. Someone from the Mennonite Central
Committee will be there to accept donations, so if you play acoustic guitar
or know people who do, send them my way. Just working out final details, but
put out the word to keep the date open. Not looking for audience, just
players - and it's going to be cozy, but wonderful!
