Hi folks
Just got a call from the TSSA regarding those propane tank I photographed in the West Side Lands Subdivisions and written orders and citations were issued to four separate home builders. He said Fusion homes, Bromburg, Ridgeview and Capital Homes
Here is what he said:
For regular tanks only 10 can be stored together at any given time in a caged areaOnly 2 large propane tanks to be stored in caged areas at a timeCaged area must be at least 25 feet away from homes.
Ground must be level for tank storage at all times.
He confirmed he witnessed large tanks in clusters of 6 He witnessed regular tanks in clusters higher than 10. He observed tanks fallen or clusters not in cages.Tanks were too close to homes
If your working on a home it's OK to have the tank on the lot to work with but not clusters.
He spoke to site managers. Told them of the risks. Issued the citations. In an area like Vista Hills where folks are already living the area. the TSSA reminded builders that the residents are watching. Kids may be in the area. Safety has to be bumped up. If the site were not occupied it might not be as big a deal but with these folks here, it's important.
He will be popping by to check for compliance in the days ahead.
I told him that lots of high school co-op programs start on lots like this. Kids helping to build a house to get their credit so I thanked him for what he did because bad habits once seen can spread. If these bad habits spread it makes is more dangerous for everybody so it's good to see these issues getting delt with. I thanked him for his work.
He'll be back to check up on compliance.
Lulu
