Good points, Gord.
And too, they'll no doubt want to avoid having a by-election that overlaps
with the federal election.
Appointing the first runner-up is what they did in 1993, the last time a
regional council seat became vacant. (When Telegdi was elected MP, Mike
Connolly was appointed.)
Gord, maybe we need a civics chat group:)
